There’s something special about a home that’s been loved since 1972 finally getting the chance to catch up with the family living in it. Our clients came to us wanting their space to finally feel like them — light, layered, and livable, without sacrificing style for a busy family’s day-to-day life. What resulted was a full remodel/addition that reimagined the heart of the home. In this post, we’re covering select spaces we tackled in this project:

Entryway

This home’s Entry has a small landing area and stairs leading to the main living area. Our task was to transform the Entry into an inviting alcove with a drop zone, mirror and lighting that reflected the homes’ architecture. 

Living & Dining Room

The living room and dining room needed to work hard for this family. With three kids and a busy household, our clients needed furniture that could keep up with real life without compromising on style. We custom-designed the dining chairs with performance fabric on the seats — the part that gets used the most — for everyday durability, while adding in a fabric our client fell in love with that wasn’t performance-based on the chair backs. The two fabrics work beautifully together, giving the look she wanted without sacrificing durability where it counts. It’s a dining room built to keep up with the family’s routine — from weeknight homework to weekend dinner parties — without ever losing its polish. In the Living Room we styled our client’s existing pieces and incorporated art into the mix.

Family Room

In the family room, our goal was to create a space that felt open, bright, and connected to the rooms around it. Square footage was added to this room and the connected kitchen.  Custom cabinetry became the anchor here — not just for storage and style, but as the first note in a design story that carries all the way into the kitchen. That continuity is what ties this main living space together, so no matter which room you’re standing in, it feels like one cohesive room rather than a series of disconnected spaces. A bold fireplace slab, chosen by the client from a curated selection, anchors the space as its focal point.

Kitchen Addition/Remodel

The kitchen picks up right where the family room left off. That same custom cabinetry carries through, creating a seamless visual thread from one space into the next — painted in a warm, gold-hued tone that plays beautifully off rich walnut accents throughout. Adding square footage here required structural reconfiguration on both floors, a true team effort alongside the project’s architect, structural engineer and builder. Rather than treating the kitchen as its own separate design moment, we wanted it to read as a continuation — light, functional, and connected to the rest of the main living area.
